Using SiftMind Safely

Last revised: October 5, 2026
Effective date: October 6, 2026

SiftMind is for adults aged 18 or older. It offers optional, self-guided educational exercises for general wellbeing. It is not a medical device and does not diagnose conditions, provide medical advice, or deliver treatment.

If you need urgent help

If you or someone else is in immediate danger, at immediate risk of harm, or experiencing a medical emergency, contact local emergency services or go to the nearest emergency department. Do not use an exercise to delay urgent care.

If you need urgent emotional support, contact a local crisis service. Choose a crisis service that operates in your country or region. Resource availability varies by location. Any support-resource links in the app are informational and do not contact a service for you.

SiftMind does not monitor entries, ratings, or support messages for emergencies. It does not determine whether you are safe, and you should not expect it to contact emergency services or someone you know. Support email is for technical issues. In-app feedback and support email do not provide mental-health support or urgent care.

You control each exercise

  • Skip any question or stop at any time. You do not have to complete an exercise or try another one.
  • Write only what you want to record. You do not need to disclose painful memories or personal details.
  • A neutral response, uncertainty, or no change in how you feel is acceptable.
  • Stop if an exercise increases distress or becomes repeated checking for certainty. Taking a break is a valid choice.

Seek professional support if distress persists, worsens, or interferes with daily life, or if you are unsure whether an exercise is suitable for you.

Breathing, grounding, and audio

Use attention-focused exercises only in a safe place where you can remain stationary. Do not use them while driving, operating machinery, or doing something that requires your full attention.

For breathing exercises, breathe gently and comfortably. Do not force deep breaths, hold your breath, or breathe rapidly to match a timer. Optional counts are a guide, not a target. Stop and return to your usual breathing if you feel dizzy, short of breath, or uncomfortable. New, severe, or concerning physical symptoms need appropriate medical attention; do not assume they are caused by stress.

For grounding or imagery, you can keep your eyes open, skip a sense, or choose a different exercise. If focusing inward makes you more distressed or disconnected, stop and focus on your surroundings in a way that feels comfortable. Choose written instructions instead of audio when you prefer them and they are available.

Reflection and planning

Use thought exercises to explore everyday interpretations, not to decide whether danger, abuse, or coercion is real. You do not need to find a positive explanation for harmful behavior, assign blame, forgive someone, or contact another person.

Choose safe, voluntary, manageable everyday actions. Do not use activity plans or cost-benefit exercises to test dangerous situations, override physical limits, make medical decisions, or decide whether to tolerate harm. Activity pacing allows rest and adjustments; it is not a treatment plan for fatigue or another condition.

Worry time is optional and should not delay an urgent practical action or become a repeated reassurance ritual. If reflection makes you feel trapped in a loop, stop and consider support.

Professional care and privacy

Continue following your healthcare professional's advice. Do not start, stop, or change medication or treatment based on the app. SiftMind's mood ratings and history do not show whether you have a condition or whether treatment is working.

Reflections can contain sensitive information. Avoid unnecessary identifying details about yourself or others, protect your device, and consider who could see information you copy, screenshot, or share. See the Privacy Policy for the actual storage, access, sharing, and deletion practices.

Reporting a product concern

Use the in-app feedback feature to report concerns about app or skill content, including an unsafe prompt. For technical issues, contact contact@innovflux.com. Privacy concerns may also be sent to this address. Include only the details necessary to explain the issue. Do not use product support for emergencies or expect an immediate response.
